I have more than a decade worth of experience as a teacher, and you will leave each lesson feeling that much closer to mastery of your musical goals.

My students currently engage in 3 to 4 recitals per year, which allows for nice performance opportunities, socializing, and co-inspiration and growth.

In my lessons, I emphasize the core musicianship skills of building a healthy, fluid and easy techique free from physical blocks, core musicianship, theory and sight-reading skills, and emphasis on being nourished by the great master Classical composers of the Western tradition. I seek to encourage healthy study which benefits the mind, ear and spirit most, so I base my philosophy of learning, as early as age and technique will allow, the study of the music of Bach, Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Brahms, Chopin, Debussy and Bartok, to name a few.

Composition students will study counterpoint, analysis, form, and orchestration, and the lesson will be conducted from the poit of view of ready reference to earlier masterworks with a proven record of being gold standards in each area.
